i’m in this boat alone, floating down a river named emotion.
will I make it back to shore, or drift into the unknown?
graduation is only a concept. in real life every day you graduate. graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. if you can grasp that, you’ll make a difference.

today is unique! it has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. at midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. forever. but the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities.

spent the afternoon at the beach, reading a book that did nothing more than remind me of what i already know. that I’ve been ignoring for a while now.
the problem is, the beach isn’t far away enough. in fact, it’s too damn close now. what i really need is an island, an excuse to focus completely on self. or nature. or nothing at all.
no cell phones, no laptop, no gadgets, no distractions. i almost want to kidnap myself, from myself.
oh well. in the meantime, there’s always “lost.” (cue netflix. and… scene.)
“Watching the sky change colors and the world emerge from darkness is an experience that will influence the whole rest of your day in ways that words cannot describe. Or simply observe the quality of the morning light as it infuses the world with its particular pale golden beauty. You may let the light play on your own hand, remembering that you are also part of the natural world.
After you devote one day to opening your eyes more fully to the beauty of nature, you may want to make this part of your daily routine. Each day drink from the beauty all around you, and allow it to rejuvenate your entire being. All you have to do is pause, for just one minute, and really take it in, remembering to thank Mother Nature for her beauty.”

the more sophisticated i try to be, the sillier i feel. maybe some people were meant to wear jeans and lay on the floor. to always lose their earrings & break their necklaces. play with children & get their hands messy. walk through the dirt & run through rain. and maybe some hair was meant to always be “out of place”, falling in eyes and being swept away repeatedly.
that doesn’t mean i don’t like to try though :)
“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake up and live!” - Bob Marley
